Elizabeth Iljkoski, Ed.S.Greetings Grissom Middle School community,

I am Elizabeth Iljkoski, and it is with great enthusiasm that I continue to serve as the Principal of Grissom Middle School, entering my fifth year in this esteemed position. I am humbled by the privilege to be a part of this wonderful community, which has been my home for the past 22 years within the Warren Consolidated School district.

Before joining the Grissom family, I had the honor of serving the Sterling Heights High School community for many years. My journey in education has been incredibly fulfilling, starting as a Biology, Anatomy, and Chemistry teacher for 13 years. Subsequently, I served as an assistant principal at Sterling Heights High School, where I cultivated my skills as a school building administrator.

Throughout my educational career, my commitment to quality instruction and building strong relationships with students has remained steadfast. It brings me immense pride to witness the dedication of the Grissom staff in ensuring the finest educational experience for all our students.

My academic journey began at Wayne State University, where I earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. While initially pursuing a research assistant's position, I soon realized my passion for education and completed my Masters of Arts in Teaching from WSU while teaching at SHHS. Continuing my quest for excellence, I pursued an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership at Oakland University and obtained my state certification as a K-12 Building Administrator. Emphasizing my commitment to lifelong learning, I actively participate in professional development courses and attend conferences, striving to be a Leader of Learners for both students and staff.

Grissom Middle School holds a special place in my heart, as it was where my journey in education began 23 years ago. Starting as a long-term building substitute at Grissom, I immediately found a vibrant and close-knit community that I connected with on a personal and professional level.

I am continually inspired by the dynamic energy of our students, staff, and parents. Together, we embrace Grizzly PRIDE and work relentlessly toward guiding our students on a journey of continuous improvement. It is a privilege to be part of this remarkable institution, and I am excited about the limitless possibilities that lie ahead as we strive for continuous growth and success together.

As we embark on this new academic year, I extend my sincere gratitude for your unwavering support and collaboration. I firmly believe that when schools and parents partner together, there is great success in fostering a child's academic and social-emotional growth. On behalf of the entire Grissom staff, we look forward to working with you and your child this school year!

With warm regards,

Elizabeth Iljkoski, Ed.S.
